Project H.E.R.O. Helping Educators Reach Out
Mission: United Way of Dickinson’s Project H.E.R.O. in collaboration with regional schools works towards nurturing the well-being of youth in schools by partnering with families to empower and increase their self-sufficiency.
Vision: Empower families in meeting the nutritional needs of their children.
Vision: Increasing the success of youth by improving their attendance through assisting with transportation.
Every day, children miss school because their families cannot afford transportation, putting them at risk of falling behind academically. The federal system often overlooks the full financial burden on parents, focusing solely on income rather than essential expenses. United Way Dickinson and Dickinson Public Schools recognize that ensuring every child has reliable transportation to and from school is critical to their education and future success. No child should have to worry about missing school due to financial hardship. By working together and addressing the full picture, we can support local families and ensure no student is left behind simply because they can’t afford a ride to school.
